"Tangible Sarcasm" Sculpture Series

This series of sculptures, along with the “Self-Congratulator 3000” (which has it’s own project page), are known as “Tangible Sarcasm.”

This series, completed mostly during Rob’s undergraduate time at Eastern Michigan University, are meant to be interactive, humorous, sarcastic (duh), and mostly ironic while simultaneously poking fun at the fine art system, the viewer, as well as the artist himself. In this series nothing is sacred or safe from mockery.

“Feel Dumb”
When an artist’s meaning or defense of their work results in the viewer becoming completely stupefied by the object in front of them aren’t they done a disservice? Is a piece of art a failure if it doesn’t change the way someone experiences something.

“Art Generator 2000”
A device which has single-handedly democratized the artistic world. The Art Generator 2000 is capable of producing a theoretically endless supply of art.
While pressing the button, the “AG 2000” allows the user to create art. This processes not only produces art but transforms each user into an artist.
