In early January 2018, Sava’s closed for two days while a team of local tradespeople did their magic to improve the look, feel, and functionality of the restaurant. Our part of this partial remodel included covering the old bar face (black melamine) with a chevron wall-covering product by Maya Romanoff which we veneered, stained, and finished in the shop. We also covered the much smaller upstairs bar with the same treatment.
The other elements we handled were covering the stair risers with brass plates we etched with the designs from the floor tiles, two new walnut server stations, as well as modifying a new stainless dish tank table to accommodate their new dishwasher.
